Henry Fukuhara (1913-2010)

   
   

Henery Fukuhara left art school in the Depression and was a florist for many years before returning to painting in his 50s. He was interned with his parents, who were Japanese immigrants, at the Manzanar internment camp in California's Owens Valley during World War II.

Henry, a prolific California watercolorist and teacher who attracted many of the field's most accomplished artists to teach workshops on abstract watercolor painting to students beginning in 1998.
